Rachel Gregg (known for her role as Velma in Clubbe Hall’s production of ‘Chicago’) joins Acacia to narrate the poetry written for Dvorak’s love sick ‘Cypresses’ Love Songs. He wrote them for a student with whom he was completely smitten but unfortunately she did not return his love. Borodin, however, was much luckier in love and dedicated his String Quartet No 1 to his dear wife as an anniversary present. Appreciating his mother’s maternal love, Australia’s own Peter Sculthorpe wrote his beautiful Left Bank Waltz for the mother he adored.
