CLASSICAL JEWELS (1:30-3:30pm)

Quartet-in-residence, Acacia Quartet and flautist, Jane Rutter will feature in this concert. The program will start gently with a performance of the Mozart string quartet no. 15 in D Minor, followed by an unaccompanied sonata by CPE Bach. This work will showcase the instrument’s capabilities and the virtuosic technique of the performer. In the Mozart Flute quartet Jane will be joined by members of Acacia to finish this delightful program.

Russian Tapestry (7:00-9:00PM)

Russian Tapestry will feature Acacia Quartet with pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska. The program consists of works by the great 19th and  20th century Russian masters, interwoven with miniatures from the “Silver Suite” by Elena Kats-Chernin as well as her “Five Chapters” for piano quintet. Acacia Quartet will open with an early work by Rachmaninov, a two movement quartet of melancholic mood and then later be  joined by Tamara for another work by Rachmaninov, an arrangement for piano quintet of one of his songs, “Georgia, o never sing to me again.”  Virtuosity for solo piano can be admired with works by Lhevinne, Rachmaninov, Scriabin and Mussorgsky presented by Tamara-Anna Cislowska, showcasing some huge classics that look back to the Golden Era of the piano.
