LOVE NOTES

Rachel Gregg joins Acacia to narrate the poetry written by Gustav Pfleger-Moravsky for Antonin Dvorak’s ‘Cypresses’ Love Songs. He wrote them for a student with whom he was completely smitten but unfortunately she did not return his love. Peter Sculthorpe adored his mother and wrote the lyrical, ‘Left Bank Waltz’ with her in mind. (arranged for Acacia by fellow Australian composer, Ann Carr-Boyd). Alexander Borodin, however, was much luckier in love and dedicated his String Quartet No 2 to his dear wife as an anniversary present.
